In 1949 the Golf Club had a 4 rink bowling green constructed which was expanded to a full sized 6 rink bowling green a few years later and created a section called The Upminster Bowling Club. Currently the membership comprises of over 50 gentleman and 40 ladies who bowl throughout the outdoor season which runs from the last Saturday in April to the first Sunday in October.

The club is affiliated to the English and Essex County Bowling Associations, both male and female sections and also to various local associations which enable club members to enter local, county and national individual competitions.

The Club’s men’s section currently play in the Romford and District Bowling Association and Brentwood and District Bowling Association Triples leagues which are played in the evening and an afternoon league for retired gentleman over the age of 60. The ladies section also have an evening league together with individual competitions organised by the Essex County Women’s Bowling Association. Finally both sections arrange friendly matches against other local clubs throughout the season. Within the Club there are a number of individual competitions and mixed matches/drives are also organised.

There are two categories of membership, namely full and intermediate. All members are also social members of the Golf Club and can enjoy the Club House facilities including the restaurant, bars and snooker table. However, intermediate members can only use the facilities during the outdoor season whilst full members can utilise the facilities all the year round.
