hole with the river on the left and out-of-bounds to the right.  This calls for an accurate second shot through a narrowing fairway and hopefully a reasonable length third or play short of the neck leaving a longer but relatively straightforward third shot to the green.

Hole No.12:   Par 4 – S.I. 14 (Ladies Par 4 – S.I. 14)
The drive goes back cross the river.  The hole is not very long but we must make up our minds whether to be heroic or canny.  From the back tee only a good drive will land safely on the other side, and the modest golfer is advised to play short and hope to get to the green with the second shot.  Bunkers short of the green which can catch you out.

Hole No.10:  Par 4 – S.I. 12
(Ladies Par 4 – S.I. 10)
The more difficult homeward half opens with a normal kind of drive but with an assortment of obstacles in the way of cross-bunkers to be avoided for the second shot.  The river is close behind the green.

Hole No.18:   Par 3 – S.I.18
(Ladies Par 3 – S.I.18)
To end the round we cross back over the road.   A par three is not unique, but it is certainly unusual. The eighteenth is a pleasant little hole with bunkers   skillfully placed to ensure that nobody stands the     faintest chance of scuffling the ball miserably along  the fairway to obtain a better result than he deserves.
Hole No.13:   Par 4 – S.I. 4
(Ladies Par 4 – S.I. 8)
The thirteenth is a fascinating dog-leg to the right. It requires a well-placed tee-shot and a well-hit second shot which must not fade into the river on the right of the green.  The green is not easy to read and is guarded with a bunker front right.
be able to open their shoulders from the tee.  There is a cross bunker short of the green to the left and the green is guarded with bunkers left and front right.  Not an easy green to putt with the slope from back to front.

Hole No.15:   Par 4 – S.I. 6 (Ladies Par 4 – S.I. 6)
The fifteenth is downhill with gardens on the right and a copse on the left, and at the back of the green are bushes into which many a second or even a third shot can run.
The green is two tiers with a bunker to the left.

Hole No.16:   Par 3 – S.I.16 (Ladies Par 3 – S.I. 16)
A pulled tee shot will see you in trouble near the green, possibly in the river.  There is a bunker to the left of the green and two to the right.

Hole No.17:   Par 5 – S.I.8 (Ladies Par 5 – S.I. 12)
The drive starts through an avenue of trees and the further back the tee, the narrower it looks.  This hole is up hill and gradually turns to the left, which makes it more difficult for those who fade the ball.  It is possible to slice into a copse on the right.  There are two bunkers short of the green and two more guarding it.   The proximity of the road makes it dangerous to approach the green too strongly.
